In the gospel accounts, Jesus pinpoints the start of the Great Tribulation to the emergence of the "abomination of desolation
standing in the holy place." When the Antichrist is standing within the Temple, the Great Tribulation is upon Believers.
"Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet,
standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. Whoever is on
the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get
his cloak. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! But pray that your flight will
not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the
beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for
the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,'
do not believe him. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead,
if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you in advance. So if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do
not go out, or, 'Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them. For just as the lightning comes from the east and
flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather."

"But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be (let the reader

possible, the elect. But take heed; behold, I have told you everything in advance."

"But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near. Then
those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of the city must leave, and those who are in
the country must not enter the city; because these are days of vengeance, so that all things which are written will be fulfilled.
Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days; for there will be great distress upon the land
and wrath to this people; and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and
Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled."

While the apostle John does not chronologically date when the Antichrist desecrates the Temple, he is told of the Great
Tribulation when he observes a multitude of saints clothed with a white robe who were murdered for their faith during the Great
Tribulation.
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation
and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches
were in their hands; and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."
And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their
faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, "Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and
might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen." Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "These who are clothed in the white
robes, who are they, and where have they come from?" I said to him, "My lord, you know." And he said to me, "These are the ones
who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
