Clothed in white robes, just like the twenty four elders (Rev 4:4)
and God's angels (Rev 15:6; 19:14),
the multicultural saints were standing and holding palm branches. The object of worship was God and Jesus
Christ for salvation. John's record of Jesus' triumphant entry is significant, "blessed is Jesus (God is
salvation) who comes in the name of the LORD."
On the next day the large crowd who had come to the feast, when they heard that
Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to
shout, "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel."
(John 12:12-13)
The angels around the throne, the twenty four elders, and the four living creatures fell on their faces
and worshiped God. These beings also worship Jesus Christ; but, their worship is more specific. In the context
of salvation, they attributed it to God and worshiped accordingly. In the context of who could open the scroll,
they attribute it to Jesus Christ and praised and worshiped Him (Rev 5:7-11).
