Approach: This lesson explores the basis for the disbelief of the people of Nazareth and indirectly challenges our
own preconceptions.
Hermeneutic objective: Recognizing that many of Jesus' events have more than one account in the gospels and that by
reading other accounts, one may get a clearer understanding of its meaning.
Theological objective: To learn the truth, one must be objective in considering the facts of an event. The Jews of Nazarene
had three sources of data to evalute if Jesus was the Son of God - not just the son of a carpenter: 1) the testimony of John the Baptist,
2) the testimony of God's word, and 3) the testimony of Jesus' work of miracles.
