Approach: Reading a few passages from Genesis to Revelation to understand this perplexing phrase.
Hermeneutic objective: Recognizing the importance of divine covenants and the beauty of God's word.
Theological objective: To understand the Parable of the Wedding Banquet, one must know both the
Abrahamic and Mosaic Covenants:
Many people are invited to the kingdom of heaven and they have a choice to come to the King's
banquet for His Son's wedding or not.
For those few who come to the wedding banquet, they must be wearing the proper wedding clothing
which is symbolic of their faith in Jesus.
Because of their belief in Jesus and obedience to His word, God has chosen to be God to them.
The wedding clothing of fine linen, bright and clean, represent the righteous acts of the saints.
It is faith in Jesus Christ is what makes one righteous in God's eyes and seen as the righteous act.
