Approach: Carefully observing two passages from the Old Testament.
Hermeneutic objective: With a good understanding of God's divine covenants, difficult theological concepts
can be better understood.
Theological objective: When in the context of salvation, God elected to be God to Abraham and to his
descendants; God did not choose who would be Abraham's descendants.
To his descendants, Abraham was to teach the way of the Lord.
Through the Law of Moses, the conditional covenant was to teach the way of the Lord.
Through the undconditional New Covenant, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit teach the way of the Lord.
Of all the peoples of the earth, God chose to be God to those who chose to have faith, like Abraham, in Him.
