Approach: Studying a few passages to explore the terms transgression and lawlessness.

Hermeneutic objective: Learning to read within the context of a divine covenant and using a Bible dictionary for unfamiliar terms.

Theological objective: When God speaks of sin within the context of breaking the law, He is referring to the judicial / legal approach He takes towards any relationship one may have with Him.

The legal standard by which one is righteousness and holy is determined is whether one obeys and follows God's word.

This standard applies whether one is aware or not of God's standard.

This objective standard is outside and with an authority above that of any human government. And, as it is embedded in the very nature of God, judgment is not capricious nor whimsical.
