Hermeneutic objective: Learning how to carefully observe details that reveal the character of a person from the Bible.

Theological objective: The Wise Men believed that Jesus was the Messiah Son of God and identified Him as the "King of the Jews." Their belief in the astronomical sign of the Messiah was so strong that they traveled a good distance from the east carrying valuable treasures to give to Him. Finding the Messiah brought them great joy, and they left without informing Herod to keep Him safe.
