Fear, Pride or Apathy Can Lull Us into a Blissful, Lazy, Hazy Spiritual Stupor: Staying Alert for Challenges and Confrontation from Without and Within

Whether examining the Christian church of Colossae in Asia Minor, the religious church of Mizoram in India or the secularized church in North America, Christians continue to face opposition and challenges from both outside the church and inside the church. If we are to be alert and stand up rather than sleep or roll over (1 Cor 16:13), and continue to make disciples for Christ (Matt 28:18-20; 2 Tim 2:2), at some point, Christians must again place more value on matter than art and truth than feelings. Christianity and culture are in conflict, and battles with the world, the flesh and the devil are as relevant and real today as they were in the first century.
