Because unfallen angels are messengers of God, human beings should be thankful to God for any deliverance from danger. This was demonstrated by Daniel (Dan 6:22) and Peter (Acts 12:7-11).

Any prayer to angels may make one susceptible to deceit.

"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." (2 Cor 11:13-14)
