1. Carefully listen to the apostle Paul statement. What do you learn about good angels?
For I think God has displayed us, the apostles, in last place, like men condemned to
die: We have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to people. (1 Cor 4:9, CSB)
2. Carefully listen to Luke's account of the Gentile Cornelius. What do you learn about prayer and the role
of good angels?
There was a man in Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion
of what was called the Italian Regiment. He was a devout man and feared God along with his whole household. He
did many charitable deeds for the Jewish people and always prayed to God. About three in the afternoon he
distinctly saw in a vision an angel of God who came in and said to him, "Cornelius." Staring at him in awe, he
said, "What is it, Lord?"
The angel told him, "Your prayers and your acts of
charity have ascended as a memorial offering before God. Now send men to Joppa and call for Simon, who is also
named Peter. He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea."
When
the angel who spoke to him had gone, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier, who was one
of those who attended him. After explaining everything to them, he sent them to Joppa. (Acts 10:1-8. CSB)
3. Listen carefully to what the Psalmist said. What do good angels do for Believers?
Because you have made the Lord—my refuge,
the Most
High—your dwelling place,
no harm will come to you;
no plague will come
near your tent.
For he will give his angels orders concerning you,
to
protect you in all your ways.
They will support you with their hands
so
that you will not strike your foot against a stone. (Ps 91:9-12, CSB)
4. Listen to Jesus' explanation of the Parable of the Weeds and Tares. What do you observe of the role of
good angels?
He replied, "The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man; the field is the
world; and the good seed—these are the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one,
and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
Therefore, just as the weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son
of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom all who cause sin and those guilty of
lawlessness. They will throw them into the blazing furnace where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
(Matt 13:37-42, CSB)
