In contrast to traditional dictionaries where words are defined, Bible dictionaries
also include information such as the background of people, places, and books of the Bible.
They are full of maps, charts, pictures, cultural insights and basic language helps
(Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek). They are designed to provide the student with specific
information on a wide variety of Biblical subjects.
The more current the Bible Dictionary, the more likely it will contain the more
current findings in archeology and anthropology.
Many scholars consider this as the first reference that all students of the Bible
must have.
